I am an artist (and art school survivor), writer, Romantic, geek/dork, and altogether ridiculous person. I’m usually shy and don’t speak until spoken to, but am always up for a conversation.
Unless you’ve met me, you’ve never met anyone like me before.
My name is Jennifer. I’m 27. I am a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
I am a connoisseur of the bizarre, purveyor of kitsch, and pursuer of beauty.
I get jokes.
I am a stickler for proper spelling and grammar.
I enjoy things that are epic and things that are subtle.
Don’t talk to me about vampires that sparkle.
I collect all sorts of strange objects including antiques. I have a healthy collection of vintage ephemera, several antique typewriters, and several pounds of old keys.
I have two cats when a lot of the girls with whom I went to high school have several children. I intend to keep it that way for now.
I am a person of faith. I am of the Roman Catholic tradition. I have some major problems with the “religion” but not with the “faith,” if that makes any sense. I’m not a bigot and cool with LGBTQ people and people of other faiths. I’m not cool with people who judge me just because I’m a person of faith and those who are otherwise intolerant and negative.
I make all sorts of art, but my “training” has, up to this point, been in painting and other 2-D work, but I do plenty of sculpture, too. I like theatre and hope to, someday, design sets and props for major productions.
Favorite artists include (but are not limited to): Alfons Maria Mucha, Edward Hopper, Lucian Freud, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Edward Burne-Jones, Evelyn de Morgan, Gustave Moreau, Arthur Rackham, and many others.
I love all sorts of music, but, sadly, I am not a musician. Favorites are an eclectic mix and include: Rush, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Judas Priest, Emilie Autumn, The 69 Eyes, Rob Zombie, Pearl Jam, John Denver, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, Alice Cooper, The Indigo Girls, Dead Can Dance, Turisas, Polkadot Cadaver, Within Temptation, Ludovico Einaudi, Elton John, Peter Gabriel, Jeff Buckley, Vienna Teng, the Duhks, Beethoven, Bach, Puccini, among many others.
